The iconic 90-degree V-twin engine by Moto Guzzi, originally conceived in the late 1940s, continues to power the latest generation of superbikes from Mandello del Lario. The engine made its debut in the late 1960s with the 703cc V7, followed by an enlargement to 757cc. The first sports model, the 748cc V7S, was introduced shortly thereafter. While initially appreciated only by a rather small minority, the popularity of the large Guzzi skyrocketed with the introduction of the 850cc Le Mans in 1976. The Le Mans, with its distinctive appearance suggesting speed even when stationary, could achieve well over 130mph on the open road.

In 1978, the model underwent a revamp as the Le Mans II, featuring a more intricate Spada-style fairing. Subsequently, the Le Mans III in 1981 underwent significant changes, including new cylinder heads, an updated exhaust system, and refreshed styling. While maintaining the original 850cc capacity, the Le Mans took on its '1000' incarnation with a larger 949cc motor. This final Le Mans variant, also referred to as the 'MkIV,' was in production until 1985, boasting a maximum power of 86bhp and a claimed top speed of 141mph. Regarded as one of the definitive superbikes of the 1970s, the Moto Guzzi Le Mans is highly sought after by collectors today.

The Ultima Edizione is one of the last series of this legendary motorcycle. Only 100 were made of which this is number 3. This Le Mans is in very good condition and has been serviced by Guzzi specialistJan Roberts from Boekelo.
